IO MI ANNOIO, 2008
Framed chromogenic prints, 40 x 14 cm eachSingle channel SD video, color, sound, 3 min 49 sec
io mi annoio observes everyday life with both tenderness and detachment, tracing an ecosystem of relationships shaped by irony, restlessness, and quiet disillusionment. The project reveals a reflexive voyeurism in which the observer becomes the observed, caught in his own act of exposure and distance. Photography operates as both evidence and performance, oscillating between sincerity and parody.
Candid, mocking, and affectionate, the images form a loose portrait of an extended family, a community unafraid to reveal itself with pride, eccentricity, and vulnerability. They capture the unstable identity of a generation suspended between authenticity and self-staging, intimacy and spectacle.
